What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser, typically used to remember preferences, keep you signed in, or track behavior for analytics/advertising. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels.
What we actually use today
We'd rather tell you plainly what's true than pad this page with boilerplate about cookie types we don't use. As of the date above:
- We set no cookies for analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking. xlinescx.com runs no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party tracking scripts.
- Local storage (not a cookie), essential: we save your light/dark display preference (
xlinesprism-theme) and your cookie-banner choice (xlinesprism-cookie-consent) in your browser's local storage. Neither is transmitted to our servers or to any third party — they exist purely so the Site remembers your choices on your next visit. - Google Fonts: the Site loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Loading these fonts causes your browser to make a request to Google's servers, which can receive your IP address as a normal part of that request. Google does not set a cookie for this specific font-loading request. See Google's own privacy documentation for how they handle this data.
- Session cookies from WordPress itself: if you ever log into the WordPress admin area (site staff only, not visitors), WordPress sets its own standard authentication cookies. These are strictly necessary for that login to function and are not used for tracking visitors.
Our consent banner
You may notice a cookie banner on your first visit even though nothing non-essential is set today. We built it now — ahead of strictly needing it — because we intend to serve EU/UK visitors from launch and would rather be transparent and consent-ready from day one than add a banner later under time pressure. Your Accept/Reject choice is stored so any analytics or advertising script we might add in the future is required to check it before it can run.
If that ever changes
If we ever add analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies, we will update this Cookie Policy first, describe the specific cookies and their purpose/duration in a table here, and ensure our consent banner actually blocks those scripts until you accept.
Managing your choice
You can change your cookie-banner choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer, or by clearing your browser's local storage for this site. You can also control cookies generally through your browser's settings, which lets you block or delete cookies from any site — see your browser's help documentation for instructions.
